Achievements & Activities

The year is flying by and we are already into June.

Though Christmas seems a long time ago, winter has lingered this year. We experienced significant snowfall and subsequent drifting and Fenners was virtually cut off for a period of time. We are grateful to our neighbours for helping dig cars out and clear the road.

At the end of January we had an unannounced inspection from CQC. The inspector, Jamie Cousins spent 2 days at Fenners meeting staff and residents. He also spoke with family members and some people involved in provision of care to our residents external to Fenners. We are delighted to share that Fenners was rated ‘good’ in all 5 key areas – and therefore ‘Good’ overall.

Our report is online and in our lobby to read.

The weekend of Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd June 10.30-5.30pm sees us taking part in Bressingham & Fersfield Open Gardens.

Our garden has slowly been taking shape and the Residents have been involved in planning, choosing & buying seeds, bulbs and plants. Many seedlings have germinated and we have started to plant them out. The snow has slowed the waking up process! We have filled our four raised beds established last year with flowers and vegetables. Money raised from the Open Garden weekend is in aid of Bressingham and Fersfield churches.

A BIG thank you to TJ Motorsports for their generous donation of £250, raised from their annual Snetterton bicycle ride. This will go towards the resident’s garden furniture they chose to sit on and admire their gardening!

Plans

Thursday 14th June at 11am is another date for the diary as Fenners is taking part in a Cupcake fundraising day for the Alzheimer’s Society. We are hosting a Coffee morning with Cake competitions, Cake quizzes and a cake stall with refreshments. We welcome all entrants for the Cupcake/cake competition so let’s get cooking all you budding Mary Berrys!

We look forward to celebrating Stephen’s 60th Birthday at the end of June

News Update: People and Changes

We welcome Michelle and Emma to our care/support team.

We say goodbye to Geneve and Carmen

Friends of Fenners

Friends of Fenners are a small, dedicated team of people who have supported Fenners for many years. Money raised by FoF organised events (such as Fenners Fayre) contribute towards the residents, and in the past have helped pay for a resident’s computer, garden feature, Norfolk Show and theatre tickets. We would welcome any new faces to join the existing team, and help plan and facilitate future fundraising events.
